Graduation

Eek!  I missed a blog post yesterday!  How disappointing.  And yet…life goes on.
Today was a magnificent day.  I graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island with my Bachelor of Education!  This was a condensed program that I completed in a year, and what a year it has been.  I can’t believe that I moved to the Island a year ago, and now I am getting ready to move back to my home province of Alberta, where I haven’t lived for over ten years.  Life is funny sometimes.  I honestly never thought that I would leave the maritimes, but alas, after getting married, sometimes you just have to do what you have to to do to succeed.

Anyway.  I graduated.  This was a big deal for me, as I didn’t attend my graduation for my first degree (Bachelor of Arts at UNB).  I’m the first one in my family to get a degree, and now I have two!

As I listened to the speeches during my convocation, I felt a sense of pride – this year has tested me in so many ways and yet I was able to come through it stronger than before.  I did things that I never thought I could do, and that is so special.  I’m also so glad that my mom and my husband were able to attend the ceremony.

I’m proud to say now that I am a teacher, and can’t wait to see what adventures lie ahead!
